Mantero 1902 Icons

A throwback to the cult designs of our scarves

Mantero 1902 Icons

A throwback

to the cult designs of our scarves

Some prints have shaped the style of Mantero 1902, becoming instantly recognizable and beloved icons.

Each collection starts with a theme that guides the creation of scarves and clothing, with special attention to the placement of the design. Often, as we’ve shared before in previous articles, the most inspiring ideas come from our historical archive, a vast collection of thousands of prints, fabrics, and visual inspirations carefully preserved.

Our scarves hold an entire creative world. Within a square of silk, form, function, and imagery coexist, but the design is at the heart of it all. It gives identity, recognizability, and value to the product. Without a strong design, a scarf loses its character. In this balance, the border plays a decisive role: each scarf is worn showing one or more corners, which naturally become the focal points of the design. Designing a carré means thinking about the overall structure while giving special attention to the corners, which naturally draw the eye. The real skill lies in shaping the design around them, deciding whether to keep the corners uniform or give each a unique interpretation, and using them as a guide for how the pattern is placed on the garments.

Each print tells a universe through design, colors, rhythm, and details that create a coherent visual language. The pattern determines whether a scarf leaves a lasting impression or goes unnoticed. This is why we dedicate so much care to proportions, contrasts, and compositional harmony.

The same attention that, over the years, has turned certain prints into cult subjects, reproduced and reinterpreted multiple times, able to endure through time without losing their appeal.

A scarf is never just an ornament. It is a language to wear, preserve, and recognize. Since 2018, we have selected the prints that best illustrate this journey: the most iconic, the most beloved, those that have become symbols of our style.
