Orticolario was born from a vision: to create a space where nature, art, and thought come together.
Every October, the park of Villa Erba in Cernobbio, overlooking Lake Como, transforms into a landscape to experience slowly. A sensory and cultural journey where plants, installations, and everyday gestures merge into a shared language of beauty.
An event that invites visitors to live nature as inspiration, through a refined blend of horticulture, art, design and landscape culture. A narrative that begins in the garden and opens toward an idea of evolved gardening, an immersive experience celebrating beauty in all its forms.
Each edition revolves around a theme, a word or concept that guides the installations and the projects in competition. Over the years, the event has grown in scale and reputation, becoming a must for garden lovers, designers, and curious travellers. The fifteenth edition, held during the first weekend of October 2025, marks not only a numerical milestone but a symbolic one, the sign that a vision has become culture and community.

Orticolario was born from a vision: to create a space where nature, art, and thought come together.
Every October, the park of Villa Erba in Cernobbio, overlooking Lake Como, transforms into a landscape to experience slowly. A sensory and cultural journey where plants, installations, and everyday gestures merge into a shared language of beauty.
An event that invites visitors to live nature as inspiration, through a refined blend of horticulture, art, design and landscape culture. A narrative that begins in the garden and opens toward an idea of evolved gardening, an immersive experience celebrating beauty in all its forms.
Founded in 2009 at Villa Erba in Cernobbio, Orticolario was born as an experiment: to transform the historic park for a few days into a laboratory of beauty, intertwining botany, craftsmanship, and vision. Each edition revolves around a theme, a word or concept that guides the installations and the projects in competition. Over the years, the event has grown in scale and reputation, becoming a must for garden lovers, designers, and curious travellers. The fifteenth edition, held during the first weekend of October 2025, marks not only a numerical milestone but a symbolic one, the sign that a vision has become culture and community.
Moritz Mantero’s vision

At the root of it all lies the sensitivity and passion of Moritz Mantero, creator and soul of the project. Entrepreneur and President of Mantero Seta from 2001 to 2021, now leading both the Mantero Group and Orticolario, he has turned his love for gardens into a collective story that takes new shape every year.
The event reflects his vision: that nature is a language to be listened to, not only observed.
From this understanding comes the deep connection with Mantero Seta, the same care, the same balance between tradition and innovation, the same desire to create something lasting.

Since the very first edition, Mantero has been Orticolario’s main sponsor, supporting its growth and sharing its vision. A relationship that goes beyond partnership, grounded in a shared outlook that combines beauty, research and respect for the environment. For the fifteenth edition, dedicated to the theme Eden, Mantero Seta created the installation "E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle": a sky of printed fabrics suspended in the magnificent atrium of Villa Erba. A dreamlike and immersive space where light intertwines with soft tones, inviting an intimate and contemplative experience.

The presence of Mantero 1902 at Orticolario has always been a continuous dialogue, an exchange of visions and sensibilities. It began as a small garden house showcasing silk accessories inspired by the botanical world. Over time, that space grew and evolved into a meeting place, beside the great plane tree, a point for pause and connection where people stop to observe, listen and engage.
A narrative garden where every year capsule collections dedicated to the event come to life: Green Roots, Seed of Life, Rising Aura, each with its own language, exploring fibres, products and natural inspiration through a selection of accessories created in collaboration with San Patrignano community workshop, where craftsmanship meets social value. For this year’s edition, the project expanded through a collaboration with BeECO Milano, specialists in natural cushions and accessories for yoga and shiatsu.

our capsule Rising Aura, inspired by the theme Eden, a symbol of harmony and rebirth, explores a new way of caring for oneself, blending refined aesthetics with deeper meaning.
The pieces evoke holistic practices and invite balance through materials and design: light garments for everyday relaxation, ergonomic supports for meditation and yoga, natural accessories for relaxation and thermal therapy, soft fabrics for intimate settings, and delicate fragrances for moments of peace and introspection.

The day included a Yoga Flexibility session with @yog_amo, a sensory journey guided by Margherita Sartori (@margherita.sartori_ipnosi), and a special lunch curated by @spaziobianco_olgiate together with @fiorispettinati, accompanied by a botanical touch conceived as a moment of listening and connection.
The value of the gesture

The bond between Mantero Seta, Mantero 1902 and Orticolario is alive, like a garden that transforms and blooms with each season. We share the belief that beauty is a process, not a result; that the gesture of the hand, — in creating, weaving, planting and caring — , is a way of understanding the world.
